Taking Care of Myself

Taking Care of Myself

It’s important to feel good and be healthy.

Being healthy is good for your mind and body.

A women self-advocate.

If you take charge of your health, you will feel better about yourself.

We each have our own reason for being healthy.

Your body is like a car.

You need to take care of a car so it will drive fast and go far.

A car can break down.

Your body can, too, if you don’t take care of it.

There are four different areas to your health:

  • My Food & Drink
  • My Exercise
  • My Relationships
  • My Feelings

The Wellness Wheel

My Food & Drink

My Exercise

My Relationships

My Feelings

The Wellness Wheel is like a wheel on a car.

If one part is missing, the car can’t go forward!

Remember to pay attention to all four parts of your health:

  • My Food & Drink
  • My Exercise
  • My Relationships
  • My Feelings

Speak up for your health!

It’s important that you tell someone if you don’t feel well or if your body hurts.

There are different ways to tell someone you don’t feel well:

  • Talk
  • Show
  • Write
  • Point

Listen to how one self-advocate spoke up for herself when she wasn’t feeling well.
