Texas Advocates provides training to its members on self advocacy, self determination, person-directed planning, and self advocacy organizations.

Mission Statement The Texas Advocates is recognized as the leader in self-advocacy in Texas. The Texas Advocates will fight to stop unfair treatment and advocate for more and better services and supports for people with disabilities to be included in their communities. Vision Statement People with disabilities embrace life and advocate for their own rights and interests by making their own decisions and choosing services and supports that allow them to live the way they want to live.
The board meets in Austin 2 times, at the annual state conference and conducts 5 regional meetings each year.
