Voices of Virginia is a coalition of [7] local self-advocacy organizations run by and for Virginians with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We have come together to speak up for ourselves and for others who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. We advocate for policies that promote community inclusion and self-determination so that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live, work and play in the community.

Typical Activities:
Providing advocacy training for self-advocates and support staff.
Advocating at the General Assembly for legislative change - this includes speaking with legislators, attending budget hearings, and participating in advocacy rallies.
Providing representatives on the US Department of Justice settlement agreement committees and work groups.
